What a ridiculous title for this article. The truth is, Canada AM is now basically CANCELLED in the west. Only those privileged Canadians in central Canada get to watch this interesting show with great features and personalities. On the west coast we get 2 hours of bloody Mi-Jung Lee rehashing the same news over and over. No more Canadian musicians, diet and exercise advise, movie reviews, tips for computers, or interviews with interesting authors, artists, etc. That's only for central Canadian. What a crock of B.S.!
BPAC is a national organization, with strong regional representation in Toronto and Vancouver. Our membership is mainly composed of in-house and freelance publicists, marketers, bookstore employees, sales representatives, and students; in short, anyone actively involved in the promotion of books in Canada. BPAC was formed to achieve the following objectives:
1. To enhance the professional skills of its members 2. To foster professional attitudes and business practices within its membership 3. To raise the public and industry profile of book promotion as an integral part of the book publishing and selling process 4. To reward and encourage BPAC members and potential members, and those connected to the publishing industry, through the regular endowment of various awards including the Jack Award and the Award for Promotional Excellence.
